General Terms and Conditions (summarized)

For every agreement between you and TransIP, our general terms and conditions apply. What exactly is in that long legal text? To better understand what we do for you and what we expect from you, we have summarized the general terms and conditions in clear language.

Buig jij je toch liever over de complete juridische variant? Dan haal jij je hart op met deze versie.

Your Agreement

It all starts with an agreement. When you create an account with TransIP (and place an order), an agreement arises between us. The rules that apply to our agreement are determined by the general terms and conditions. The duration of your agreement differs per ordered product. A domain name registration is concluded for one year, which is then automatically extended for one year. An SSL registration is also for one year but is not automatically renewed. All other services last one month and are automatically extended by one month. Other parties may be involved in performing your services, such as credit card companies for payments. In some cases, in addition to the general terms and conditions, the additional conditions of those other parties also apply. You give us permission to accept these additional conditions on your behalf. View all additional terms and conditions that may apply to your services on this page.

Your Account Information

Through your account, you get access to the control panel with which you can manage and configure all your services. To provide you with these services, we need the correct (contact) information from you. So check carefully what you enter and inform us of any changes quickly in case of a move or other situation. If you suspect that something is wrong with your information or suspect abuse, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can take measures.

Your Services

We do our best day and night to ensure that your services always perform at maximum level and are accessible. Therefore, we sometimes need to perform maintenance. Usually, you will not notice anything about this, but it may happen that we temporarily suspend your services. We make every effort to work on your services only at night and to inform you in a timely manner. When you want to use additional applications, you are responsible for installing and maintaining them yourself (unless the application is part of the service itself). A backup of your stored data is regularly made (backup). How often this happens will vary per service and can be found in the product specifications. If you request it, we will make the backups available to you. It is possible at any time to request an increase (upgrade) of the product specifications. A decrease (downgrade) is only possible when you terminate your current agreement and then enter into a new one. To smoothly register your domain name, SSL certificate, or IP address, you give us the right to get the paperwork done with the organizations responsible for this on your behalf. Some domain names are protected or reserved (by copyright). Therefore, we cannot guarantee that a registration will always be successful.

Your Wallet

You pay for the services you receive. Recurring costs for your web hosting package or VPS, for example, are paid before the relevant services are delivered. One-time costs (such as installation or activation fees) are paid afterwards. This also applies to additional costs that arise after exceeding an agreed limit. If this happens regularly, we may choose to upgrade your subscription. Of course, we will inform you about this first. After receiving our invoice, you have 14 days to transfer the amount to us. If we don't hear from you, we'll send a message. If a payment is not successful even after that, you can always contact us to prevent (temporary) cessation of your services. During your agreement, TransIP may decrease or increase the prices of your services. We will only do this if there is a good reason for it and we will inform you about it one month in advance.

Your Conduct

You may decide what to do with your services, but it is not intended for you (or your customer) to endanger our network, violate the rights of others, or break the law. In such cases, we or the judge may decide to (temporarily) stop your services or provide your identifying information to the person whose rights have been violated.

Your Rights

All ownership rights (such as copyright and trademark rights) that rest on your data or other materials that you have provided remain yours. The ownership rights that rest on the services ordered by you remain with TransIP. With regard to your personal data, you always have the right to access it and, in case of inaccuracies, to request a correction or removal in writing. As a consumer, you have the right to cancel these services and terminate the agreement free of charge within 14 days after the order of your services using this form. You are then only obliged to pay any costs up to the moment of termination. Please note that this right does not apply to domain name and SSL registrations. For business customers, the right of cancellation never applies.

Your Processor Agreement

If you collect, store, or otherwise process personal data from others through TransIP systems, you are required by privacy legislation to enter into a processor agreement with us. We have already prepared the processor agreement for your convenience, which can be found at the bottom of this page.

Your Goodbye

After the end of your agreement, you can choose to stop it and not renew it (automatically). Keep in mind a notice period of one month. At the earliest, a domain name registration can be terminated after 11 months. For services that only last a month, they can be terminated from the first day. Finally, don't forget to download your data and backups before terminating your services! The door is always open for you if you decide to come back later.
